The place
Kailash rises to about 6,638 metres on the Tibetan plateau and is sacred to Hindus, Buddhists, Jains, and practitioners of Bön. It has never been summited — climbing it is not permitted out of respect for its status. Pilgrims instead walk the 52-kilometre circuit around its base.

Practice with a sense of scale, and sits after a difficult day when something larger than the day is useful.
