🌿 तपोवन
Sacred Grove (Tapovan)
A clearing under old banyans, kept for practice

The place
Tapovan means "forest of austerity" — a wooded place set aside for sadhana. Sacred groves are a real and still-surviving institution across India, patches of forest protected by local custom for centuries, and they are often among the last intact habitat in a district.
What it suits
Longer sits, and contemplative practice where you want a sense of shelter rather than expanse.

This environment appears in the daily One Hour Monk rotation, with its own ambient sound and palette carried through the whole session.
